FISHING HOUSES were all in use Sunday, Feb. 12 during the Lake Bronson Lions 32nd Annual Fishing Derby. With the beautiful weather, 271 registered for the contest. Winning the speared fish category went to Cole Johnson with a 2 pound Northern. It was also the only speared fish that day. Angled Perch first prize went to Brad Engen with a weight of .85 pounds. Grace Faken and Lily Peterson enjoyed hanging out together Sunday during the Lake Bronson Lions 32nd Annual Fishing Derby. The derby was a huge success with over 271 fishermen signed up for the contest. Adults, as well as the kids, enjoyed the warm weather, with some fishing from chairs right on the lake. Sawyer Billings took advantage of the nice weather to set up a spot with two fishing holes for Sunday’s Lake Bronson Lions 32nd Annual Fishing Derby. Raffle tickets were sold for the event and the winners were Tyler Bakken, Hallock, $500; Jeff Anderson, Argyle, $300, and Mark Larson, Stephen, $200.
BRAXTYN SCHMIEDEBERG, son of Destiny and Brady Schmiedeberg, won a Case tractor and grain cart at the Lake Bronson Lions 32nd Annual Fishing Derby. The prize was donated by Hanson Equipment, Grafton, N.D. Schmiedeberg Tree Service donated 12 kids fishing poles to the first 12 kids registered. Other door prizes were donated by Wiktel, CHS Lake Bronson, Crop Production Services of Hallock, Mattracks, Cenex – Lake Bronson, Sterling Carpet One – Drayton, Two River Sportsmans Club and Auto Value – Karlstad.
