Lake Bronson, Minn. - Arnold Augustson, 88, of Lake Bronson, Minn. died at Karlstad Healthcare Center, Karlstad, Minn. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012.
Arnold was born May 5, 1924 at Hallock, Minn. to Frank and Edith (Carlson) Augustson.
He was confirmed in the Mission Covenant Church at Hallock and attended country school in Skane Township of Kittson County.
Arnold worked on several area farms including the Ristad and Kiene Farms. He also worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He and his brother Franklin raised beef cattle and farmed near Lake Bronson for many years.
He was a kind and gentle man who never spoke badly about anyone. He loved his cats, Little House On The Prairie and “Arnie’s Special” (chicken dinner) at the Community Coffee Cup.
Family survivors include a sister, Jeanne Carlson in California; nieces, nephews; and caregiver and special friend, Roxy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harry and Franklin.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Kittson County Museum’s Two River Church.
Interment was held in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.
Rev. Galen Nordin, presided. Special music was provided by Rev. Nordin.
Pallbearers were Randy Coffield, Brady Coffield, Jerry Coffield, Sidney Nelson, Jason Kulyk and Brad Kulyk.
The Austin Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
