Alice Hickok
2/19/2013

Lake Bronson, Minn. - Alice Hickok, 82, Lake Bronson, Minn. died at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. Feb. 15, 2013.
Alice Hickok was born in Edgeley, N.D. April 15, 1930 to the parents of Charles and Mary Hickok. She resided in Lake Bronson, Minn. where she spent her remaining years.
Alice worked at the Community Coffee Cup Cafe, the Lake Bronson Drive-In, the Karlstad Hospital, and had many babysitting jobs.
She was a member of the Lake Bronson Covenant Church. She lived with her best friend, her sister Mary Blomquist, until Mary’s passing in 2007.  She spent her last seven years in her own apartment which she took great pride in and loved dearly.
Alice, otherwise known as Alley Op, always enjoyed a good laugh and had a smile on her face. She looked forward to every minute she could spend with her family and friends.
She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games. This was the only time that everyone knew they needed to be quiet and not talk for she didn’t want to miss a single detail of the game. She enjoyed playing canasta and would often be the lucky one who always got all the wilds which made her the best partner. She had been known to play cards with her sister, Mary Blomquist, till the wee hours of the morning. Alice enjoyed playing bingo at the Lake Bronson Senior Center and surrounding towns. She wasn’t as lucky at bingo as she was canasta.
She was a long standing member of T.O.P.S which met every Monday at her house and she enjoyed the friendship of the ladies.
Alice was a kind soul who was always optimistic about life and enjoyed the little things that people often overlook. She had an enormous heart that was very loving and nurturing.  She always spent time listening to you and showing that she cared. Because of her, many people’s lives have been touched and their lives will never be the same.
She is survived by sister Shirley Gunnerson; brother George Hickok; several nieces, nephews, great nieces,  great nephews, great-great nieces,  great-great nephews; and special friend, Dorothy Bergh.
