KITTSON CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
December 19, 2012
The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session December 19, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom. Members present were Paul Craigmile, Mark Johnson, Katie Langen, Crisa Mortenson, Richard Mortenson, Don Schuler and Mike Sugden. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Matt Kuznia, Tina Turn, Jillayne Kraska, Terry Ogorek, Gail Norland and Sandra Lindgren.
The meeting was called to order by Chair Sugden. The agenda was approved by Johnson, seconded Schuler and carried by all in favor. Motion Johnson, seconded Langen to approve the November 30, 2012 regular school board minutes. Motion carried. The bills having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid on motion by R. Mortenson, seconded C. Mortenson and carried by all in favor. Bills were approved for $59,155.41 and post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $41,216.56. End of the month balances were:

Respective members and administrators gave board and administrative reports. The Truth in Taxation Public Hearing information was presented. Motion Johnson, seconded C. Mortenson to approve the Final Certification of the 2012 Payable 2013 Property Tax Levy in the amount of $991,721.91. Motion carried. Motion Langen, seconded C. Mortenson to approve the Study Table portion of the high school student handbook. Instead of study table being listed Wednesday, it will move to Friday. This will allow students the opportunity to get stuff caught up over the weekend and if they do not, academic ineligibility would start Monday. Motion carried. Motion Schuler, seconded Langen to approve the resignation of Diane Younggren, special education teacher, effective at the end of the current school year. Motion carried.
Superintendent’s Report
The MSBA Conference will be held January 17-19th in the Twin Cities. Superintendent Jaszczak reported on the physical education grant available for 22 schools. Activities would include getting away from sports related physical education classes and do more things that are lifelong activities. The next school board meeting will be held January 23, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom. This will be the organizational meeting for 2013. Motion Johnson, seconded Craigmile to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
