KITTSON CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

March 24, 2014
The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session March 24, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom.  Members present were Mark Johnson, Matt Kuznia, Kate Langen, Crisa Mortenson, Richard Mortenson, Don Schuler and Mike Sugden. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Rod Stark, Stacey Nelson, Brian Pastir, Tyler Cosley, Margie Holmgren, and Sandra Lindgren.  
The meeting was called to order by Chair Sugden. The agenda was approved by R. Mortenson, seconded Johnson and carried by all in favor. Motion C. Mortenson, seconded Johnson to approve the February 24, 2014 board minutes. Motion carried. The bills having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid on motion by Johnson, seconded Kuznia and carried by all in favor. Bills were approved for $66,616.60 and post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $10,680.17. End of the month balances were:

Respective members and administrators gave board and administrative reports. Tyler Cosley informed the board of the upcoming senior class trip itinerary.  Motion Schuler, seconded Johnson to accept the resignation of Jim Petersburg as the science teacher, effective the end of the school year. Motion carried.  Motion Langen, seconded C. Mortenson to approve the Title I & II resolution.  Motion carried. Motion R. Mortenson, seconded Kuznia to approve Superintendent Jaszczaks contract for another three years with an $1850.00 cap on health insurance.  
Superintendents Report
Superintendent Jaszczak discussed staffing for the 2014-15 school year with no cuts anticipated. The MN Bullying bill was also discussed. Chairman Sugden will hand out diplomas on graduation day.   The next school board meeting will be held April 29, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central Boardroom. Motion Langen, seconded C. Mortenson to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
