Vern A. Anderson

Vern A. Anderson, age 52 of East Grand Forks, Minn. passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Vern A. Anderson was born October 1, 1963 in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada the son of the late Vern and Margaret (Bitz) Anderson. The family moved to Crystal, N.D. and Vern grew up and attended school there. Following his education, Vern worked for Johnson Oil Company in Hallock, Minn.; Motor Coach Industries, Pembina, N.D. and Mayo Manufacturing, East Grand Forks, Minn.  He married Rebecca Eide on Dec. 22, 1992 in Hallock.
Vern enjoyed hunting, fishing, being involved in demolition derbys, racing and NASCAR. He enjoyed cooking, watching movies and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Vern is survived by his children: Brandi Anderson, Grand Forks, N.D.; Brandon Anderson, Grafton, N.D.; three grandchildren, his significant other, Cecilia Ramirez, East Grand Forks, Minn.; step-children: Keshia (Kenneth) Kelly, Grand Forks; William R. St. Pierre, East Grand Forks; his in-laws: Felix and Susana Ramirez, East Grand Forks; his brother, Scott (Sarah) Anderson, Hoople, N.D.; sisters: Shelly (Howard) Jerome, Langdon, N.D,; Shirley Anderson, Crystal, N.D.; Fay (Pat) Bedard, Hallock; Pamela Peterson, Crystal. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Donald Werman.
Honoring Vern’s generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation was Friday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton and for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Vang Cemetery, Vang,  N.D. in the spring.
