LANCASTER SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS
The Lancaster School Board met in regular session on Thursday, December, 15, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. in the school district office. The following members were present: Jerome, Nelson, Sjostrand, B. Weleski, J. Weleski.  Also present were Supt. Homstad, Teacher Rep. Laura Reese, and Mendy Coffield.  Absent: Hanson
Chairperson Sjostrand called the meeting to order. The agenda was approved with one addition on a motion by Nelson, second by J. Weleski. UC.  
On a motion by Jerome, second by J. Weleski, the minutes of the November 11, 2011, school board meeting were approved as presented. UC.
On a motion by B. Weleski, second by Sjostrand, the bills were approved for payment as presented in the amount of $71,285.69. Check numbers 35279-35335.  UC.
The Budget and Treasurer’s reports were reviewed.  
Supt. Homstad presented the Administrative Report:
1. The 5th Grade will be taking a Field Trip to Deep Portage Learning Center in April.  
2. Laura Reese gave a brief presentation on the Nobel Conference she attended and also gave an update on the Robotics team. There are actually two teams now as there were more students interested in participating.
3. Ballots were distributed for the Region 1 Joint Powers Board Election.
4. Non-Certified Negotiations.
The Truth in Taxation meeting was held Tuesday, December 13th at 7:00 pm. Supt. Homstad was happy to report Lancaster School will not levy the maximum for 2012. Instead LHS will be able to reduce the taxes payable by $80,058.
On a motion by B. Weleski, second by Jerome and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, certifies the taxes payable in 2012 as follows:

On a motion by Nelson, second by Jerome and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, adopts the final budget for the 2011/12 school year as follows:

On a motion by J. Weleski, second by B. Weleski and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, accepts the resignation of Joelle Klegstad effective November 29, 2011.
On a motion by B. Weleski, second by Nelson and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, hires Alaura Peterson as Assistant Cook/Laundry effective December 19, 2011.
On a motion by J. Weleski, second by Jerome and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, certifies that all bus drivers and Type III drivers have successfully completed their annual trainings and are certified to drive bus for Lancaster School for 2011/12 school year.  
Discussion was held on Program and Position Reduction for 2012/13. No reductions need to take place at this time. Motion by B. Weleski, second by Nelson.
On a motion by J. Weleski, second by Jerome and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, hires Mendy Coffield as a KCC Junior High Girls’ Basketball Coach for the 2011/12 season.
On a motion by B. Weleski, second by J. Weleski and carried: Be It Resolved, that the Board of Education of Independent School District 356, accepts the $500 Duane Lyberg Memorial Scholarship donation.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 pm on a motion by B. Weleski, second by Jerome.  UC.  
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 7:00 pm.
