She was born Patsie Jean Kyllonen June 11, 1936, in Effie, Minn.; the daughter of John and Winnie (Siegel) Kyllonen. She grew up in  the Effie-Bigfork area and graduated from Bigfork High School in 1954.
She was united in marriage to Donald J. Rautiola Sr., June 26, 1954 in Effie. The couple lived in Chisholm for a time then moved to Bear River where they resided for over 40 years. She has been making her residence at the Cook Nursing Home since 2002.

Patsie had a rich, varied life, and could do most anything. Her  family fondly recalls her as being an awesome mother and friend. Patsie was always active and believed anything could be done with determination. She loved her family, friends and her dog.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sr. in 1980; two sons, Larry (1977) and Donald Jr. (2012); and son-in-law, Ronald Metcalf (2003).
Funeral services were Sept. 7 at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. Rev. Randy Brodeen  officiated. Interment will take place at a later date at Morcom Township Cemetery.
The honorary pallbearers were grandsons: D.J. Rautiola, Greg Carriere, Dustin Peterson, Tony Zakrajshek, Cody Rautiola, Alan Zakrajshek, Jeffrey Nelson, Nicholas Johnson; and great grandsons: Dane and Anders Rautiola, Mikko and Henrik Strand, Asher Peterson and Michael Zakrajshek.
