The Bearcats finished their regular season at home last Tuesday, against Clearbrook-Gonvick.  KCC was looking to continue their winning streak, to make it three in a row, going into the postseason. On this night things did not go as planned for the Bearcats as C/G got momentum early, and kept it throughout the game.
In the first quarter, C/G got on the scoreboard first with a 4-yard touchdown by Jonny Hamnes. The two-point conversion was no good.  KCC responded later in the quarter with a 1-yard run by Josh Rynning to tie the game.  The two-point conversion was no good, and the game was tied 6-6 after the first quarter.
C/G got the only score in the second quarter, by a 2-yard run by Damon Bakke. The two-point conversion was successful by a run by Bakke. This gave C/G a 14-6 lead going into halftime.
KCC jumped back into the game right away with an 80-yard kick-off return by Trent Peterson to start the second half.  The two-point conversion was successful by a run from Josh Rynning. This tied the game at 14 a piece, but C/G regained momentum of the game by scoring two more times in the quarter.  Both scores came by Bakke with runs of 15 and 26-yard touchdowns.  Both two-point conversions were successful by C/G to take a 26-14 lead at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter had both teams trading scores as C/G scored one more time with a 1-yard run by Bakke, and another successful two-point conversion to finish their scoring for their night.  KCC scored late in the quarter with a 46-yard run by Rynning to finish out the game.  The extra point after kick was no good.  The final score of the game ended up 20-34 in favor of C/G.
The Bearcats are not done yet as they are looking to get back on track, as they are eyeing up the postseason.  KCC is seeded third going into postseason, and played the Northern Freeze Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the first round of playoffs.
