December 16, 2020
Kittson Central Auditorium
The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session December 16th at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central High School Auditorium. Members present were Mike Sugden, Mike Olsonawski, Eric Ristad, Crisa Mortenson, Amanda Pinnock, Matt Kuznia and Mark Johnson. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Jami Carr, Margie Holmgren, Bailey Peterson, Tina Turn, Teal Plaine, and Stephanie Hanson.
The agenda was approved by Pinnock, seconded by Olsonawski. Motion carried. Minutes from November 24th were presented. Motion to accept minutes by Mortenson, second by Ristad. Motion carried. The bills having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid. Post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $12,252.81. Prepayment bills of $369,421.34. Activity Fund balance of $122,685.17. Payroll Electronic Fund Transfers in the amount of $101,743.10, Payroll Checks in the amount of $46,747.78.

on a motion to approve by Johnson seconded by Ristad. Motion carried.
NWRIC meeting held last week discussion on new members after election and a resignation of a coordinator. A candidate was hired to take the place of this position.
Mrs. Carr talked about the MSHSL likely releasing guidelines after Governor Walz spoke with new executive orders on winter sports start dates and end dates. Winter sports can start January 4th with two weeks of practice. Coaching positions are being filled for BBB, still looking for asst. Hockey. GBB is fully staffed.
No patrons were present for the Truth and Taxation Public Hearing. The Revised Budget of Revenue for FY20 was approved

Motion to approve the revised budget by Ristad, second Kuznia. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the Final Certification of the 2020 payable 2021 Property Tax Levy was presented. Motion to approve Mortenson, second Pinnock. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the job change for Judy Webster from paraprofessional to custodial was presented. Motion to approve Johnson, second Mortenson. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the hiring of Kris Folland as the head BBB coach and Blaine Kraska as the JV BBB coach was presented. Motion to approve Pinnock, second Mortenson. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the resignation of paraprofessional Melissa Hilliard effective December 23rd was presented. Motion to approve Ristad, second Kuznia. Motion carried.
Superintendent Jaszczak discussed some changes to the executive order by the Governor and how it mostly focused in the metro area. Overall, things are going well in the building. Christmas break is coming up next week. He has an interview with a reporter to discuss how we’ve stayed in person this whole time and what factors have contributed to this. Good weather has allowed for students to be able to be outside for recess. Outgoing Board Chair Mike Sugden was recognized for his twenty years of service to the Kittson Central school board.
Next meeting is January 27th.
