Bearcats defeat Red Lake Falls, Park Rapids on home ice

The Kittson County Central Bearcats hockey team started off its week on Tuesday, Feb. 16 with a home game in Hallock playing against the Red Lake Falls Eagles with a 4-1 win.
The fast-paced game started off with a goal for Red Lake Falls scored by Evan Girdler, assisted by Zak Kennett. The Bearcats quickly answered with a goal scored by Hayden Hennen and assisted by Tyler Hennen. KCC ended the first period with 1 more goal, unassisted and scored by T. Hennen.
The Bearcats kept the fast-paced game rolling with a goal scored by T. Hennen and assisted by Landon Sugden and Adam Gustafson to start off the second period. To round off the second period H. Hennen added 1 more goal to the board, assisted by Luke Misson. The Bearcats kept a strong lead the rest of the game with no one scoring in the third period. Wyatt Olsonawski led the Bearcats with 18 saves on net.

The Bearcats had another home game this week against the Park Rapids Panthers on Friday, Feb. 19 with an end score win of 5-4.
Tyler Hennen led the Bearcats with 3 goals. Kittson County Central started off the first period strong with 2 goals scored both by T. Hennen, assisted by Luke Misson and Landon Sugden. At the end of the first period, the Panthers added their first goal scored by Jaxson Lund, assisted by Joey Hillukka and Nash Mitchell.
Starting off the second period with the momentum they had from the goal in the first period, Park Rapids scored 2 goals, one of which was a power-play goal.
The Bearcats answered with 2 more goals, one an unassisted goal scored by Hayden Hennen, and the other goal going to Adam Gustafson, assisted by T. Hennen and Ethan Hanson. Both teams scored again in the third period.
KCC’s goal scored by T. Hennen and assisted by H. Hennen and Hayden Olsonawski. The Bearcats won their parent’s night game 5-4 over the Park Rapids Panthers.
Wyatt Olsonawski had 22 saves for the night.
