Mike Olsonawski talked about their meet and confer meeting with the teachers and discussion was had about adding some classes potentially a coding class or literature class. They also talked about extending Emily Kuzels day to full time to allow for her to help more with coverage in the building. The teachers appreciated less traffic in the building in the mornings last year and hope that things can remain that way for the coming years.
The NWRIC had their year end meeting and they have hired a speech person for the coming school year. They start back up with school preparations a week and a half before school starts.
Mrs. Carr talked about spring sports coming to a close and how all of them had great success. Track had several students competing at the section tourney, and baseball made it to the consolation in the section, which hadn’t been done in as long as she could remember. Golf had two, Hayden and Tyler Hennen, participating in state. Overall, spring sports had great success. Schedule for next year will be put into the sports scheduler by July 1. Finding referees for football has been a challenge, so there will be some more afternoon games with an evening game to follow to allow for the same referee team to do both games.
A recommendation to approve the proposed budget for FY22 was presented. The preliminary budget shows a significant deficit, but a large part of the reason is that revenue for the parking lots was received last year and the expenditure will not be until the next fiscal year.
