Walter Braget, 87
Walter Braget, 87, of Lake Bronson, Minn., passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2022.
Walter Raymond Braget was born July 10, 1935, in Walhalla, N.D., to Ray and Ethel (Anderson) Braget. He grew on the family and graduated from Walhalla High School in 1953. After high school, Walter attended the Wahpeton School of Science and graduated with automotive degree. Walter worked at Eddy’s Bakery and Rydell Chevrolet before opening Braget’s Auto Repair in Lake Bronson in 1970. On April 24, 1976, he was united in marriage to Linda Krueger at Lake Bronson. Walter retired in 1991 but continued to work part-time during retirement. He was an excellent pool player, loved to race cars, was a skilled woodworker and he enjoyed painting his creations.
Walter was a member of the Lake Bronson Volunteer Fire Department and the Lake Bronson Businessmen’s Association. Walter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013.
Family members include his wife, Linda; children, Kathleen Kenzy, Pierre, S.D., Kevin (Arnita) Braget, Lake Bronson, Kim (Ann) Mojica, Orlando, Fla., Karie Sloup, Omaha, Neb., Diane Rogers, Orlando, Darrin (Darlene) Rogers, Copper Cove, Texas, Jennifer (Jesse) Rogers, Lake Bronson, Glen (Alison Toren) Braget, Thief River Falls, Minn., and Nathan Braget, Lake Bronson; a brother, Richard (Joanne) Braget, Wahalla; and 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great “Papa” to Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth, infant brother, Glen; and a great grandson, Aiden.
