The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session at 4:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom. Members present were Eric Ristad, Crisa Mortenson, Mike Olsonawski, Matt Kuznia, Teal Plaine, and Mark Johnson. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Peighton Worlie, Sarah Youngstrand, Anna Jauhola and Stephanie Hanson
The meeting was called to order by Ristad. The agenda was approved by Johnson, second by Kuznia. Motion carried. Minutes from September 28th, 2022 were presented. Motion to accept minutes by Mortenson, second by Olsonawski. Motion carried. The bills having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid. Post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $15,588.72. Prepayment bills of $86,231.61. Activity Fund Balance of $99,365.01. Payroll Electronic Fund Transfers in the amount of $259,143.726. Payroll Checks in the amount of $38,552.42. Donations of $1,050.00.

on a motion to approve by Johnson, second by Plaine. Motion carried.
There was a NWRIC meeting in September.
A recommendation to approve the FY22 audit as presented by Tracee Brugemann. She said there were three findings: separation of duties, audit firm preparing financial statements and there was an overpayment from the county that needs to be rectified. Motion to approve the audit as presented by Mortenson, second Kuznia. Motion carried.
A recommendation to set the canvassing meeting for November 14th at 7pm was presented. Motion to approve by Olsonawski, second by Plaine. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve hiring of Rod Hennen as Head Varsity Hockey coach. Motion to approve Plaine, second Olsonawski. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the donation from the Minnesota Vikings to the Bearcats football program was presented. Coach Waling was selected as Minnesota Vikings High School Coach of the Week, receiving $1000 to the football program, recognition on website, 2 tickets to the game on Dec. 18th and social media post. Motion to approve Mortenson, second Olsonawski. Motion carried.
Superintendent Jaszczak talked about being gone Thursday and Friday and next week on vacation Wednesday through Friday. There is a lot of playoff action this week with football that night. Winter sports numbers are looking solid with girls basketball maybe looking a little light in the junior high area.
If the football team does well, there may be a half day coming up to accommodate the game schedule. There will be a meet and confer meeting held before the next board meeting at 7pm.
Next board meeting is November 23rd at 8pm
Motion to adjourn Olsonawski, second Mortenson. Motion carried.
