Suzi (Susan Marie) Chwialkowski, 67
Suzi (Susan Marie) Chwialkowski, 67, of Halma, Minn., passed away Jan. 2, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Suzi was born in Karlstad, Minn., on Dec. 13, 1955, to Clifford and Laura Davis of Halma. She attended school in Karlstad, graduating in 1973. After graduating, she moved to the Twin Cities area to work as a receptionist. Upon returning to the Karlstad area she gave birth to Josh Bothum on March 24, 1977. Then in May 1988, she wed Gary Chwialkowski making their home in rural Strandquist, Minn., before they made their permanent home in Halma. She worked miscellaneous jobs until she found her true calling working as a CNA at the Karlstad nursing home. She retired from there after a total of 35 years.
Suzi enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, playing cards, cooking, trips to the casino and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by: her husband, Gary Chwialkowski; son Josh Bothum; step-daughter, Conni (Todd) Weber; stepson, Chris (Jennifer) Chwialkowski; grandchildren, Charlie and Anna Bothum and their mother Krista Brown; step-grandchildren, Thomas Mayo, Dalton (Maria) Mayo, Xavier Mayo, Jessica (Zel) Burgoyne and Caitlynn Chwialkowski; and six step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Rodger (Judy) Davis, Lake Bronson, Minn., Jean (Rodney) Erickson, Lake Bronson, Patricia (Robert) Lindstrom, Strandquist, and Christopher (Laurel) Davis, Halma; in-laws, Florence Chwialkowski, Joan (Dean) Kaushagen, Shirley (Wayne) Kilen, Dennis (Sharon) Chwialkowski, Carol (Carl) Hugg, Rita (Terry) Sollund and Susie (Darwin) Nelson; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
She is preceeded in death by: her parents, Clifford and Laura Davis; in-laws, Steve and Gladys Chwialkowski; brother-in-law, Allen Chwialkowski and sister-in-law Myrna Johnson.
Funeral services was held at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad on Monday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. with a one-hour visitation prior. Interment will be in the Eidsvold Cemetery, rural Halma, next spring. Rev. Caitlin Jensen, presiding; Kathy Englund, organist and Corienne Jacobson, soloist.
