Bearcat skaters lose to Flyers, Panthers on the road

On Thursday, Jan. 5, the KCC Bearcats started off another week of hockey with a trip to Bagley, Minn., to play the Flyers.
Tyler Hennen started off the game for the Bearcats with a goal assisted by Timothy Johnson. The Flyers quickly answered with a goal. The Bearcats scored 2 more goals before the period ended. Those goals were scored by Hayden Olsonawski and Hennen, with assists going to Ethan Hanson and Hennen. The first period ended with the Bearcats up 3-1.
The second period was an evenly fought game, but the Flyers came out of the period with 2 more goals, to tie up the game.
During the third period, the Flyers hit a stride and scored 3 goals, while the Bearcats did not get any goals in. The Flyers won the game 6-3.
Isaac Lindegard had 19 saves.

On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Bearcats traveled to Park Rapids, Minn., to play the Panthers.
The game started off fast-paced. The Panthers scored 1 goal in the first period, while the Bearcats did not score a goal during the period.
The Panthers started off the second period with another goal. Deeper into the period, the Bearcats scored their first goal of the game and got some momentum rolling. The goal was scored by Hayden Olsonawski and assisted by Tyler Hennen. The Bearcats scored another goal 2 minutes later. It was an unassisted goal scored by Hennen.
Going into the third period, the score was tied at 2-2. In the third period, the Panthers scored the game-winning goal 4 minutes in. The Bearcats lost with a score of 2-3.
Jameson Turner had 24 saves for the day.
