Kittson Central Board Meeting
December 21st, 2022

The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom. Members present were Eric Ristad, Crisa Mortenson, Mike Olsonawski, Amanda Pinnock, Teal Plaine, Matt Kuznia and Mark Johnson. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Jami Carr, Mark Christenson, Shannon Christenson, Margie Holmgren and Stephanie Hanson.
The meeting was called to order by Ristad. The agenda was approved by Mortenson, seconded by Olsonawski. Motion carried. Minutes from November 23rd, 2022 were presented. Motion to accept minutes by Plaine, second by Kuznia. Motion carried. The bills having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid. Post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $19,688.64. Prepayment bills of $58,840.33. Activity Fund Balance of $96,119.46. Payroll Electronic Fund Transfers in the amount of $297,052.46, Payroll Checks in the amount of $51,352.66. Donation of $90.00

on a motion to approve by Johnson, seconded by Mortenson. Motion carried.
Mrs. Carr talked about advertising for the open coaching positions in hockey and football for next year. Winter sports are in full swing, with a couple reschedules from last week’s storms.
No patrons were present for the Truth and Taxation Public Hearing. The Revised Budget of Revenue for FY23 was approved

Motion to approve the Revised Budget FY23 Mortenson, second Plaine. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the final property tax levy as presented. Motion to approve Johnson, second Kuznia. Motion carried.
A recommendation to approve the resignation of band director, Brian Pastir. He has been hired back as a retired teacher, but at the end of this school year, he will no longer continue teaching. Motion to approve Kuznia, second Johnson. Motion carried.
Superintendent Jaszczak talked about checking into the combined polling place question from Ken Urbaniak and he contacted him with what he found out. Weather has been causing some issues in recent days, but hopefully will turn around over the Christmas break. There has been discussion in the elementary about how the class splits will look with the large incoming Kindergarten. There is also a training for the teachers on Martin Luther King day. It will be conducted via Zoom, so no travel is involved which will be much more productive.
Next meeting is January 25th, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.
