Rodney Erickson, 81

Rodney Erickson, 81, of Lake Bronson, Minn., passed away at his home on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.
Rodney Elwood Erickson was born Dec. 7, 1941, the son of Elmer and Myrtle (Martinson) Erickson. He was raised in Lake Bronson and attended school there, graduating in 1959. After completing his education he traveled to New Jersey to work for his uncle in the propane business. He later worked at Sears and Corning Glass. He married Jean Willis there in 1968. Rodney returned to Lake Bronson in 1970.
On Nov. 11, 1972, he married Jean Davis in Hallock and settled in Lake Bronson. He worked on area farms for a few years before starting at MCI in Pembina. Rodney drove patrol and truck for the Kittson County Highway Department, retiring in 2004 because of failing health.
Family members include: his wife, Jean; his grandchildren, Robert (Devyn) Erickson and Elizabeth Erickson; a brother, Jimmy (Sally) Erickson, Lake Bronson; a sister, Phyllis Klegstad, Lake Bronson; a daughter-in-law, Almie, in New Jersey; and 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Elmer and Myrtle; a son, Michael who passed away on Dec. 27, 2021; a sister-in-law, Suzie Chwialkowski who died in January of this year; and a brother-in-law, Dale Klegstad who died in 2020.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Lake Bronson Community Covenant Church. Interment will be held next spring in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held in the church for one hour prior to the service.
