Kittson Central Board Meeting
April 26th, 2023

The Board of Education of #2171 met in regular session at 8:00 p.m. in the Kittson Central boardroom. Members present were Eric Ristad, Crisa Mortenson, Amanda Pinnock, Teal Plaine, Matt Kuznia and Mark Johnson. Also present were Superintendent Jaszczak, Jami Carr, Lindsey Gullickson, Kari Jo Jensen,Anna Jauhola and Stephanie Hanson.
Mortensoni. Motion carried. Minutes from March 29th, 2023 were presented. Motion to accept minutes by Johnson, second by Pinnock. Motion carried. The bills, limited due to Amanda Younggren being on maternity leave, having been audited and found correct were ordered to be paid. Post payment bills (hand payables) were approved for $5,874.00. Prepayment bills of $89,266.26
There was a sports coop meeting held this month to discuss the end of winter season sports, open coaching positions, uniform needs, game worker pay and admission fees for next year.
There was also a meeting NWRIC to talk about summer payroll but no further new business.
A recommendation to approve designating Superintendent Jazczak as the Identified Official with Authority was presented. MDE requires the annual designation. Motion to approve Pinnock, second Plaine. Motion carried.
Superintendent Jaszczak talked about graduation coming up and who from the school board would be helping with diplomas. He talked about the only bid coming in for health insurance came from Sjostrand Agency, with an annual age increase of 4% and roughly a regular 4% increase as well. The plan for next year is to have two kindergarten and two 4th grade sections. There is an ad placed for the 4th grade teaching position at this time. There are solid numbers going forward with preschool. Discussion on the legislature and the changes that may happen going forward.
Next meeting is May 24th, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn by Kuznia, second Pinnocki. Motion carried.
