C.W. “Bill” Satterlund, 85

 

C.W. “Bill” Satterlund, 85, of Duluth, Minn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at home.
He was born May 3, 1938, in Hallock, Minn. He graduated from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Minn. Bill was a carpenter in Duluth, a milkman in Hallock, and then returned to Duluth and retired there as a carpenter.
He served in the National Guard as well. Bill loved watching softball, going to the auction, singing his favorite country songs even when he didn’t know all of the words, and just meeting new people. His infectious smile and laugh lit up any room he was in.
He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Sandi; his daughters, Laurie (Pete) Johnson of Duluth, Tammy (Jeff) Muller of Gambrills, Md., and Billie Jo (William) Irving of Spring Hill, Kan.; his brother, Robert of Milwaukee, Wis., his brother, Richard (Clarice) of Hallock; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Robert Markle; and special friends, Mary Jo and Dennis Gagon, and Christina and Mickey Greene, of Duluth.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister; his brother; his daughter, Robin; and son, Jerry.
Bill had a kind heart and a generous spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His was an example of a life well lived.
