Museum annual meeting will now be in October

By Enterprise Staff
The Kittson County Historical Society made a significant change during its annual meeting on Thursday, Nov. 9. The board and members of the society voted to change its annual meeting date to the second Thursday in October.
This required a change of the society’s by-laws and was brought before the membership at the 2022 annual meeting, but could not be voted upon until this year.
Typically, as it did on Thursday, the weather doesn’t fully cooperate to allow for many members to attend the annual meeting. Thus, the group brought forth the idea for the switch.
Society and board member Deb Cederholm made the motion to approve the new annual meeting date to be the second Thursday each October, with fellow society and board member Ray Ward seconding the motion. All present voted in favor.
The society also re-elected two current board members and voted in a new board member.
Ward and Cecil “Butch” Fossell chose to run again for their positions and were unanimously voted back onto the board.
Society and board member Anna Jauhola nominated Roger Dziengel for the open seat on the board, and he was unanimously voted in.
The board thanked LaDonna Truedson for her years of service on the historical society board.
In other business, the membership:
• Heard the 2022 annual meeting minutes, the 2023 progress report, the financial fund and an update on the endowment fund.
