URCHINS GUNNAR GUBBELS and ELLA RICKENBERG try to help Rusalka, far left, by asking the sea witch Jezibaba to release her from a spell.

JEZIBABA, played by Hanna Wheeler, works her magic on Rasalka. The sea urchins, gathered on the ground in front of the sea witch and mermaid, were played by Kittson Central third, fourth and fifth graders.

JEZIBABA sings her song of how she will trick Rusalka into taking a magic potion to make her human, but then foil her plans to win the prince and force her back to the sea. The urchins are played by third, fourth and fifth graders.

RUSALKA (Laura McCauley) snuck up on her father the sea king (Nick Miller) during LOON’s performance at Kittson Central.

THE SEA KING, far right, sings with his urchins in a beginning number of “Rusalka: A Mermaid’s Tale.” Pictured, l-r, Thomas Hyman, Jace Nigg, John Deere and Oliver Samuelson.
