Verna Mae Lyberg, 97

Verna Mae Lyberg, 97, of Hallock, Minn., passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at the Kittson Healthcare Hospital.
Verna was born in Hallock on March 29, 1928, to Harry and Clara (Pearson) Norland. Verna grew up in Lancaster, Minn., and attended school there, graduating in 1945. On Oct., 23, 1945, she was united in marriage to Andy Lyberg at Thief River Falls, Minn. Andy and Verna lived in the Lancaster area farming until they moved to Hallock in 1966. Verna was very active in the Grace Lutheran Church, involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and active in the community. She worked at various jobs including as a bookkeeper and sales clerk, and enjoyed catering for many years. She was an awesome cook and baker. Verna loved to play cards and socialize. She and Andy had a large garden for many years, sharing garden goods with family and friends. They also enjoyed camping and fishing with their family and friends.
She is survived by: a son, Robert (LaVonne) Lyberg of Osage, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Becky Lyberg, Hallock; a son-in-law, Rick (Dawn) Lindegard, Hall-ock; a grandson, Erik (Janelle) Lindegard, Hall-ock; two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Hayley; two step-grandchildren, Samantha Caulfield, Fargo, N.D., and Cassie (Caleb) Kallander, Fargo; three step-great-grandchildren, Ashton and Ryker Caulfield and Jaxson Kallander.
Verna was preceded in death by: her husband, Andy; parents, Harry and Clara; a daughter, Andrea; sons, Brian and Duane; a sister, Harriet; brothers, Dennis and Earl; two sisters-in-law, Ruby and Shirley; brother-in-law, Lloyd Farbo; father and mother- in-law, Andrew and Ericka Lyberg; brothers-in-law, Carl and Gordon; sisters-in-law, Faye and Delores;and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before services at Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
