Fish House Festival set for March 21

The winter has been long, so, it’s time for some fun! Come to Lake Bronson on Saturday, March 21 for the Lake Bronson Improvement Committee’s First Annual Fish House Festival and the Kittson County Museum’s First Annual “Sleds of the Stars” snowmobile show.
Some people may not have used their fish house for the last couple of winters due to the lake being drained so, this is your perfect chance to use it. Bring your fish house to Lake Bronson, where there will be designated areas near main street where you can set up.
Plan to spend the entire day and evening – even overnight! Any type of fish house is welcome – pop-ups, homemade, wheel houses, etc. There will be no electrical hookups so you will need to bring your own generator if you need electricity. There are plans for a fish house decorating contest, too.
It will be a full day of activities around town. There will be a vintage snowmobile show at the museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Categories are: Original, Restored, Race, 2026 Best Dressed – Vintage, 2026 Kittson County Historical Society’s Board’s Choice.
There is no registration fee, however, donations are welcome.
Along with the snowmobile show, there will be a vintage snowmobile suit exhibit on display in the museum. There will also be an assortment of items made by local residents for sale at the museum.
From 12 to 3 p.m., the chili cook off and cornhole tournament will begin at the American Legion. Chili winners will be decided by those who buy a bowl, sample the entries and vote for the best one. There will be s’mores kits available at the museum and fire barrels will be located around town to roast your marshmallows.
Free hot apple cider will be served at Bronson Market and the Bronson Market Sub Shack will be serving from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.
From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Lake Bronson Fire Department will be having a Burger Basket fundraiser along with a gun raffle at the Legion. The evening will conclude with music by a local DJ at the Legion.
Once the evening is over, you can go to the comforts of your fish house and spend the night in Lake Bronson.
