Nicole Steien recipient of the Clare Hunt Memorial Scholarship

The Clare Hunt Memorial Scholarship was established by Hugh and Pam Hunt in memory of Hugh’s mother. Clare Hunt was known for her outstanding and dedicated 53-year career to the field of nursing.
Nicole (Schuler) Steien, a full-time student at the University of Mary, Bismarck, N.D., is the recipient of the $1,000 Clare Hunt Memorial Scholarship.  She is on course to graduate in April 2020 with her Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner.
Steien is the daughter of Don and Michelle Schuler, Hallock. She stated her father is her mentor because of the way he cares for other people.
Steien and her husband, Marcus, who is originally from the Karlstad, Minn., area stated “we would love to move back home.”
Steien previously worked at Kittson Healthcare in the dietary department and as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) while in high school and at Altru Health Systems in college as a CNA and licensed practical nurse (LPN).  She currently works flex as a registered nurse (RN) at North Valley Health Center in Warren, Minn.
