Folland takes third place in shot put at state track meet

By Enterprise Staff
McKinley Folland not only beat her personal best in shot put during the Minnesota State Track meet on Friday, June 7, she also took third place.
Folland threw the shot put 38 feet, 11.5 inches in the preliminaries to win her flight, according to Coach Andi Patenaude. This was her personal best by 9 inches.
“She stayed calm and collected the entire time and gave it her all,” Patenaude added. “What an amazing way to end the year. She consistently progressed and ended her season on a huge high.”
Judges take athletes’ best throws from preliminaries and finals for final scores. This was Kittson County Central’s first showing at the state meet. It’s been a good motivator to work hard and make another showing next year, Patenaude said.
