Kennedy City Council changes meeting date and time for 2025

Kennedy City Council will meet on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. starting in January 2025.
The council discussed their regular meeting date and time at their special meeting on Monday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.
With conflicts on Mondays, the council discussed moving the meetings to Wednesdays and meeting earlier at 5 p.m.
They voted to keep two meetings on Mondays during lent in 2025.
Meetings in 2025 will be held on the second Wednesday of the month starting with Wednesday, Jan. 8, 5 p.m. All dates and times are posted in the city office window.
Todd Nordine, Kittson Marshall Water, was at the meeting and requested permission to put a meter on the Kennedy water tower.
“We are going to be updating our meters for all the rural customers and we’d like to put a collector on the water tower,” Nordine stated.
Councilor Jon Turn asked if they will install and maintain the meter.
Nordine stated they are not installing but will oversee maintenance and the council approved the request.
In other business, the council:
• Approved the replacement part for the baseball field scoreboard console.
• Approved a resolution for the 2024 Tax Levy at $125,785.
• Approved unpaid code enforcement fees for four parcels in Kennedy, which are mowed by the city to be collected on the owner’s property taxes.
The council adjourned and will hold their first meeting of 2025 on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 5 p.m.
