SWCD helps first graders learn about water’s impact

Kittson Central first graders recently spent some time in science learning how living things change their environments.
Teacher Kalli Peterson invited Jamie Osowski and Sky Dahl from Kittson Soil and Water Conservation District into the classroom to help us make edible beaver dams.
We used pudding, pretzels, cereal, marshmallows and chocolate covered raisins to see if we could build dams strong enough to hold back milk.
It was fun to make a science experiment as well as collaborate with a wonderful local resource.
