Local man found deceased in Lake Bronson ditch
By Enterprise Staff
A man was found early last week deceased in a shallow ditch in Lake Bronson.
A passerby called the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, April 21 at 1:50 p.m. to report a deceased male lying in a ditch in Lake Bronson. Sheriff Matt Vig said the male had been identified as Curtis Olson, 68, of Lake Bronson.
He was apparently found lying face up in approximately 6 inches of water about 20 yards off the road.
The sheriff’s office transported Olson’s body to the medical examiner’s office in Grand Forks that day. Vig said an initial external examination determined no immediate signs of foul play.
The case remains under investigation and it will take several weeks to receive toxicology reports.
“His last whereabouts the night prior to that, he was at the Maverick, and he left from there about 9:30 p.m.,” Vig said.
As the sheriff’s office continues to investigate, they encourage anyone who might have further information about the evening of April 20 regarding Olson to please call 218-843-3535.
