Ben D. Gunnarson, 93

Ben D. Gunnarson, 93, of Frisco, Texas, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Ben was born May 11, 1933, to Albert and Pearl Gunnarson of Lake Bronson, Minn. Ben spent time in the Army and the Air Force Reserves, and graduated from North Dakota State University in 1958. While in college, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Peterson. They married on April 20, 1957, at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church.
In 1963, they moved to Dallas, Texas, where they raised their three children: Andrea, Gregory and Patricia. Ben had a long and successful career with New York Life Insurance. He enjoyed a long retirement that lasted almost as long as his career. Ben and Marilyn were married for 66 wonderful years.
Survivors inclu-de daughters, Andrea (Dean) Janak, Patricia (Steve) Grossman, grandchildren, Allison (Alan) Achtenberg, Grayson Janak, and Jordyn (Clay) Kindiger, and brother Donald (Norma) Gunnarson and special friend of the past 3 years, Nancy Stalcup, whose friendship brought joy and companionship in his final years.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Gunnarson, his son, Gregory Gunnarson, his sister, Darlene Zaugg, and his parents, Albert and Pearl Gunnarson.
