Vance Dahl, 58

Vance Lee Dahl, 58, of Moorhead, Minn., passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Vance was born on Dec. 23, 1967, in Drayton, N.D., to Robert and Florence Dahl. Throughout his life, Vance was known for his gentle spirit, warm heart and remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome.
To know Vance was to be greeted with a smile, a firm handshake and an instant friendship. He had a gift for making people feel seen, valued and loved. His infectious smile could light up a room the moment he walked in, and his kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
In his younger years, he was an avid Kennedy Rockets fan. He also spent many years attending the Day Activity Center in Lake Bronson, Minn.
Family was the center of Vance’s world. He loved being surrounded by those he cared about and found great joy in family gatherings, celebrations and everyday moments with the people he loved. He brought laughter, warmth and happiness wherever he went, and his presence made every occasion brighter.
Vance shared a special bond with his mother, Florence. Her passing on May 12, 2026, left an emptiness in his life and in the hearts of those who loved them both. While losing Florence and Vance within just five weeks has been heartbreaking for their family, they find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
He is survived by his sister, Margo Miltenberger; his nieces and nephews, Lexi (Garrett) Shelley, Lukas (Krystal) Dahl, Markas (Ashley) Dahl, Elsie Miltenberger, Ava Miltenberger, and Claire Miltenberger; and his great-nephews, Bekkam, Brooks, Louie, and Kepler.
Vance was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Florence Dahl, and his brother, Todd Dahl.
The world is a little dimmer without Vance in it, but those who loved him will forever carry his smile, his kindness and the joy he brought to every gathering. To Vance, there were no strangers – whether he had known someone for years or had just met them, everyone was his buddy.
