Jean Marie Sorenson, 84

Jean Marie Sorenson, 84, of Hallock, Minn., passed away peacefully Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born May 29, 1939, in Menasha, Wis., daughter of Edward and Angeline Jakowski. Jean married David M. Sorenson Jan. 26,1959, in Phoenix City, Ala. Together they raised seven children. Jean was a caring mother and housewife. Once the children were raised, she enjoyed working in the kitchen at Kittson Memorial Hospital.
Jean enjoyed rides with Ruby to check on the progress of the crops, wintering in Arizona, gardening, playing cards with friends and family, baking the best caramel rolls and endless Christmas cookies, and spending time with her family and special time with her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by: her husband, David, of 65 years; her children, Terri Christopherson (Lancaster), Todd Sorenson (Hallock), Julie Sorenson (New London, Wis.), Jeff Sorenson (Salem, Ore.), Jodi Sorenson (Corvallis, Ore.), Dawn Sorenson (Winsted), and Michelle Johnson (Hallock); six grandchildren, Becky (Ed) Lehrke, Carl Christopherson, Logan Johnson, Shane Sorenson, Jack (Kaia) Johnson, and Anna Sorenson; and two great grandchildren, Parker Christopherson and Levi Lehrke. Further survived by her siblings, James (Mary) Jakowski and Joyce (Mike) Daine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gwen Feick, Barb (Dennis) Sarnowski, and Bev (Randy) Swenson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sons-in-law, Dallas Johnson and Byron Christopherson; and brother-in-law, Bob Feick.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock, on Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m.
