Craig Timothy Homstad, 72

Craig Timothy Homstad, 72, of Ramsey, Minn., passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center where he’d been hospitalized for congestive heart failure.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1951, to Freddie and Ruth Homstad. He grew up on his parents’ farm southeast of Hallock, Minn. The location ingrained in him a deep-rooted love of nature and animals.
After graduating from Hallock High School, he went on to receive an associate’s degree from North Hennepin Community College and later graduated from Brown Institute to become a radio disc jockey. He found employment with WXMP in Merrill, Wis., where he worked as a sound engineer, disc jockey and reporter. He later gained employment as an engineer with Wagner Spray Tech out of Plymouth, Minn., where he worked for 30 years until retirement.
Lifelong pursuits included an enduring interest in history, art and literature. Free time was often spent drawing or painting portraitures for his family and writing short stories.
He is survived by: his sister, Valerie Hanson; brother, Daniel (Shari) Homstad; daughter, Michelle (Jeremy) Raijin; grandchildren, Ariel (Joshua) Hage, Jesse (Anastasia) Hill, and Jasmine (Nate) Bedbury; five great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Craig is preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Bryce Homstad; sister, Marilyn Homstad; nephews, Danny and Christopher Homstad.
Craig will be remembered as a gentle, kind, intelligent and loving person. His generosity and caring heart will live on in the legacy of the family he has left behind.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be held Sunday, Sept. 8, 1:30 p.m. at the Moraine Picnic Area in French Park, Plymouth, Minn.
