Pamela Faken, 81

Pamela Rae Faken, 81, of Lancaster, Minn., passed away peacefully at Kittson Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with family by her side.
Born on Jan. 4, 1944, Pam was the daughter of Carl and Lela (Buck) Baker. She was raised in Hallock, Minn., and was baptized in the Lutheran Church during her youth. Pam attended Hallock High School and worked as a waitress at her parents’ restaurant, Carl’s Café, during her teen years. She then got a job at Sanner’s Grocery Store in Lancaster and later worked at the Lancaster Locker Plant for several years. While between jobs, Pam began work as a secretary for her husband Dale’s construction company, J & D Builders. While she eventually got a job at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, N.D., where she spent most of her working years, she continued doing secretarial work for her husband’s company on the side.
In 1960, Pam married Marvin Clow, and they had two children, Jeff and Mitchell. Later they separated and Pam remained in Lancaster with her two boys. Eventually, Pam met Dale Faken, and the two were married on Oct. 2, 1975. They began their lives together on their farm in Lancaster, where Pam spent the rest of her years. Through this marriage, Pam gained two stepsons, Dale Jr. and Mike, and together Dale and Pam had another child, Casey.
Pam was a member of Sion Lutheran Church, where she often helped out by providing food for events. This was no surprise to anyone who knew her, as Pam was quite the baker. She was well known for her homemade caramels and pickles, which she happily handed out to anyone and everyone she knew. This was just one of many examples of her generosity and her love for giving gifts. Pam was also passionate about her gardening. Her flower gardens in particular were her pride and joy, and she spent countless hours tending to them. Pam was also a big animal lover, having many pets and farm animals. Later in life, Pam gained an even greater passion: her grandchildren. She lived to spend time with them, and she went to every event that she could. She will be very missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeff (Sandy) Clow, Mitchell (Don) Clow, and Casey (Sarah) Faken; step-sons, Dale (Roberta) Faken, Jr. and Mike (Kristin) Faken; grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Clow and Braden, Grace, Brett and Seth Faken; step-grandchildren, Amber Gamez, Andrew (Katie) Faken, Alissa (Jake) Erickson, Bill, KC, Darcie and Andy; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Baker; and sisters, Sally McCadden and Linda Anderson.
Pam was preceded in death by: her parents, Carl and Lela; her husband, Dale; and her brother, Thomas Baker.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11: a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Visitation will be held at the church for an hour before the service. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lancaster.
