Bearcat girls capture first win of ’26 against Mustangs

The Bearcats started off 2026 jumping into a bus once again and hitting the road. KCC has played eight of their first 10 games on the road to start the season. Last Friday they made the trip to Oklee to challenge the one-loss RLCC Mustangs.
KCC established their inside advantage early in the game and made it clear the Mustangs were going to have to deal with the Bearcats pounding the ball into the paint all night long. The Mustangs answer was to double the post and KCC countered with back cuts and solid ball reversal to create driving lanes and open perimeter shots. The Bearcats capitalized on their countermoves and steadily pulled out to a 31-21 halftime lead.
The Bearcat defense held up their end of the deal in the second half of play and kept RLCC uncomfortable and off balance. KCC’s defense limited the Mustangs to inefficient offensive possessions that led to fast break opportunities for the Bearcats.
