Beverly Schmidt, 90
Beverly Schmidt, 90, of Hallock, Minn., formerly of Perham, Minn., went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, with her daughter by her side.
Beverly Ruth Lindemann was born in Lucca, N.D., on Sept. 13, 1935, to Herbert and Eva (Folschow) Lindeman
n. Beverly’s early education started at a country school near Lucca. During her high school years, she attended Enderlin High School, graduating in 1953. Beverly continued her education at the University of North Dakota School of Nursing. She graduated with her registered nursing degree in 1956 and began her career in Birmingham, Ala. In 1963, she returned to the Midwest and took a position as a public health nurse with the city of Fargo, N.D., for six years, as well as teaching obstetrics at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in the evenings.
Beverly married Marvin Schmidt on Dec. 10, 1971, in Watertown, S.D. They settled in Perham and Beverly began working as a school nurse for three years and then became a county nurse for Ottertail County for the next 25 years, retiring in 1995. Marvin died on Jan. 27, 2019. Beverly continued to serve her community by working as a hospice nurse. During her career, she also helped form the first union for nurses in North Dakota. Beverly was honored for her 50 years of service by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Beverly was a gifted singer and sang at numerus weddings, funerals and other special occasions. In 2020, she moved to Hallock to be near her daughter, Brenda. Beverly was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed sewing, knitting and baking, as well as her church activities.
Family members include: her daughter, Brenda (Mark) Evenson, Hallock; grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsey) Evenson, Hallock, Joshua (Tawni) Evenson, Grand Forks, N.D., and Alyssa (Nathan) Graham, Loudon, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-children, Teresa Cambra, Greg (Jamie) Schmidt, David (Becky) Schmidt, and Michael (Vickie) Schmidt; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 47 years, Marvin; three brothers, Stanford, Conrad and Douglas; and a 2-year-old sister, Joyce.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hallock. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, April 24 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Interment will be in the Perham City Cemetery at a later date.
