Elsie Clow, 100

Elsie (Hoffmann) Clow, 100, Hallock, Minn., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
Elsie was born July 23, 1915, in New Ulm, Minn., the daughter of Andrew and Katherine Paa Hoffmann. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith.
On October 1, 1946, Elsie was united in marriage to Johnny Clow of Orleans, Minn. The couple settled in Clow Township near Orleans and farmed there until 1985 when they moved to Hallock. Elsie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild, Westside Homemakers, Golden Age Singers of Hallock, and the North Star Square Dance Club, Lancaster, Minn.
Other activities important to Elsie included traveling, spending warm weather winters in Texas with Johnny, and being a special grandmother who attended grandchildrens birthdays, events, and other activities over many years. Elsie showed love and kindness throughout her life, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving family members include sons Galen (Cindy) and Gary (Peggy), both of Thief River Falls, Minn., and Allen (Cindy), Lancaster; ten grandchildren including two step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren including four step-great-grandchildren, sisters Florence Hanson, Rosemount, Minn., Lucille Broderson, Watford City, N.D., and several nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Katherine, husband Johnny, sister Deloris, step brothers Al and Cleve Hoffmann, sisters-in-law Gertrude and Edna Hoffmann, and brothers in law Didrick Broderson, Robert Cox, and Clarence Hanson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hallock. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.
Fr. Craig Vasek, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, organist; and Galen Nordin, soloist. Casket bearers will be Elsie’s grandchildren, Jeremy Clow, Eryn Miller, Janna Clow, Ryon Clow, Stephanie Faus, Jason Clow, Jonelle Clow and Rachel Clow. Honorary casket bearers will be Harlan Iverson, Robert Cameron, Mick Rapacz, David Fertig, Allen Ray Gustafson, Robert Skogland and David Treumer.
