Matthew Thomas “Matto” Traynor, 25

Matthew Thomas “Matto” Traynor, 25, Fargo, N.D., passed away June 4, 2016, at Grace Lake in Bemidji, Minn., his favorite place on earth.
Matthew was born Aug. 24, 1990, to Dr. Michael Donovan Traynor Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Traynor in Rochester, Minn. He lived in Grand Forks from 1991 to 1998. In 1998, he moved to Fargo, his permanent residence until his death. Matthew was named for two uncles, John Thomas Traynor Jr., his father’s brother, and Thomas Deere, his mother’s brother.
Matthew had an unmatched love for the outdoors. An avid sportsman, he could always be found hunting or fishing with his friends or family. In particular, he enjoyed duck hunting and would even camp out early in the morning to stake his claim to a field shoot. He was passionate about golf and found ample opportunity to do so as both a member and employee of the Fargo Country Club. Matthew truly lived life to the fullest, and his charismatic personality will be missed by all the family and friends he left behind.
Matthew was educated at Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Forks, and Nativity Elementary, Sullivan Middle School, Fargo Public Schools, Shanley High School, Bemidji State University, and Moorhead Technical College.
He is survived by his paternal grandparents John T. “Jack” and Kathryn Jane Traynor, Devils Lake, N.D.; parents Dr. Mike and Mary Beth Traynor; his brothers, Dr. Michael D. Traynor Jr. (Antinea Ascione) and Timothy Lennon Traynor; his nephew, Michael Donovan Traynor III and his beloved dog, Finn, Fargo.
Matthew is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Louis C. and Mary Louise Deere, Kennedy, Minn.
A vigil was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 at Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church, 5202 25th St. S., Fargo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8 at Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church. Interment to follow.
