Donna Mae Olson, 82

Donna Mae Olson flew away with her Angels Sunday, May 28, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Sanford Hospital in Mayville, N.D.
Donna Mae was born to Alfred and Ruth Dockin on September 12, 1934 in Drayton, ND.
Donna and Hartvick “Hoppy” Olson were married Nov. 28, 1954 in Hallock, Minn.
Donna Mae attended and graduated from Mayville State Teachers College in 1954. Her teaching career spanned 48 years. She taught in Humboldt, Hallock and Climax in Minnesota and Strasburg, May-Port, Finley, Hatton and Northern Cass in North Dakota.
She was active in many organizations including: American Legion Auxiliary, Delta Kappa Gamma, Aurdal Lutheran Church Circle and contributed a weekly column in the Traill County Tribune called “Chattin with Donna Mae Olson”.
Donna Mae was an avid reader, loved animals, tending her garden and she couldn’t acquire enough angels! She loved her beloved Kaffe Hus family at the Luther Memorial Home; you know who you are.
Donna Mae is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Hartvick “Hoppy” Olson, Portland, N.D.; daughter Sharon, Champlin, Minn., son Dana (Laurie), Fingal, N.D., daughter Sheila Rustvang Hatton, N,D. and Daniel (Janice), Hastings, Minn.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister Yvonne Carriere, Sartell, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Alfred and Ruth Dockin; a sister: Val Jean Dockin and a brother: Dwayne Dockin.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 2, 2017, 2 p.m. at the Aurdal Lutheran Church, Portland, with visitation one hour prior. Burial was in the Aurdal Cemetery, Portland.
