Mavis Korkor Otuteye, 57
Mavis Korkor Otuteye (nee Larnyoh) was born March 3, 1969 in the greater Accra region of Ghana. She spent her early years in Koforidua in Eastern Ghana where she attended Koforidua Methodist Primary and Middle Schools. Mavis also attended the Koforidua Commercial School studying dress making and fashion.
She was united in marriage to Dick Otuteye in August of 1990.
Mavis’ professional life consisted of distributing health supplements and designing and sewing custom clothing for customers in Ghana. She traveled to and from America with her fashion and design business.
Mavis resided in Delaware and Silver Springs, Md for a period of time before coming to Kittson County where she passed away on May 26 near St. Vincent, Minn.
Mavis Otuteye is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dick Otuteye; a daughter, Peace Lani Otuteye, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; a granddaughter, Rebecca Korleki Boateng, also of Toronto; several sisters, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Union Liberty Cemetery, Hallock, Minn., with Pastor Mark Hanson officiating.
