Alice Sedenquist, 78

    Alice M. Sedenquist, 78, Hallock, Minn. passed away at Methodist      Hospital, St. Louis Park, Minn., Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.
Alice was born July 6, 1939 in Hallock to Paul and Dorothy (McIlraith) Sorenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hallock High School in 1957 and went on to attend North Dakota State University, graduating with a degree in Home Economics.
On August 26, 1961 she was united in marriage to Myles Sedenquist at Hallock. They resided in Fisher, Minn., until 1965 when they returned to the Kennedy area to farm. Alice was an active member of Red River Lutheran Church. She belonged to Homemakers, was an adult leader in Pioneer Girls and the Red River 4-H Club and volunteered in many other activities. Alice was a homemaker and took pride in her cooking and sewing abilities. She enjoyed spending the winter in Arizona and also visiting and spending time at the Hallock Senior Center. Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Family members include three daughters, Janet (Mike) Thies of Deephaven, Minn.; Joan (Terry) Osowski, Hallock and Susan (Jason) Cadieux, also of Hallock; seven grandchildren, Justin (Jamie), Kaylee and Natalie Osowski, Trenton and Nicole Thies, and Tamara and Ryan Cadieux; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Madison Osowski; a sister, Janice (Paul) Stroom, Roseville, Minn., and a sister-in-law, Marion (Rudy) Jaeger, Bloomington, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myles in 2000; parents; and sisters, Betty Treumer and Paula Sorenson.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Red River Lutheran Church, rural Hallock. Interment was in Red River Cemetery. Rev. Kate Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, organist; Owen Swenson, soloist. Casket bearers were Kelly Erickson, Dave Treumer, Kevin Strom, Kevin Klein, Noel Peterson and Gary Holm. Visitation was held at the church Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

    Did not know Alice that well, but became re-indroduced to her during the time she came to Hallock/than moved to town at the Senior Center. Was sorry to hear of the need to move last year, didn’t get a chance to say good bye. My her life and memory be blessed.
