Dr. ElRay Fertig, 83
Dr. ElRay Fertig (Ray) died peacefully at the Homestead Care Center on Nov. 16, 2018, in Anoka, Minn., at the age of 83.
Ray’s loving spirit lives on in his wife and lifelong partner, VerDell; children, Andrea (Scott) McMillan; Jeffrey (Melissa) Fertig; Matthew (Michele) Fertig; grandchildren Tayler, Lauren and Dante; sister Audrey (Tony) Roettger; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Galen) Sele and Marcene Bakken; brother-in-law, Gordon Stennes; many nieces and nephews; cousins and wonderful friends.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Florence (Weiderstrand) Fertig; brother Sheldon and his wife, Donna Mae; nephews, Sheldy and Clair Fertig; sister-in-law, Avonne Stennes; brother-in-law and confidant Harley Bakken.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, Nov. 30 at Faith Lutheran Church, 11115 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, Minn. Service to begin at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Our parents were friends back in the good old days when they both were in the dray business. Also Audreys husband, Tony, is my first cousin. His mother & my father were siblings. I also knew Sheldon when we were young teens. Lots of good memories.
