Dennis Collins, 83
Dennis Irving Collins passed away on Nov. 23, 2018, after suffering complications from a stroke.
He was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Dec. 8, 1934. After graduating from Lake Bronson High School in 1953, he served in Korea with the Army from 1954-56. Upon returning to the States, Dennis attended the Minnesota School of Business; he then worked for the Minneapolis Park Board for eight years, and then started his own business, AAA Tree Service. He retired from his tree business in 1991.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara; sons Perry (Mary) of Castle Rock, Minn.; Randy (Karen) of Prior Lake, Minn.; daughter Colleen Entrikin (George) of Ft. Myers, Fla.; step-daughters Pamela Jean Whyte, and Elizabeth Ann Ballard; his nine grandchildren Michelle Herrera (Angel), Matthew Collins (Abby), Andrew Collins (special friend Brittany), Timothy Collins, Angela Klugherz (Timothy), Christopher Collins (Abby), Joseph Collins (Melinda), Colin Entrikin (Abby), and Emilie Entrikin; step-grandson, Trevor John Ballard, and his seven great-grandchildren, Cody and Lexie Klugherz; Angela and David Herrera; Sadie and Elliot Collins; and Bennett Collins.
Dennis was proceeded in death by Caroline Lager Erickson and Helmer Erickson, who raised him; Harriet Collins, the mother of his children and Melissa Ann, granddaughter, 8 months.
