Glen Sjostrand, 91, of East Grand Forks, Minn., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at the Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, N.D.
Glen Sjostrand was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Hallock, Minn., the son of Albin and Mabel (Holmgren) Sjostrand. He grew up on a farm east of Hallock. He worked for the Northwest Breeders in Roseau, Minn., for a number of years. He married Phyllis Jerome in Hallock on June 15, 1950. They moved to East Grand Forks in August of 1964. He worked for Jackson Builders and the Grand Forks Air Force Base in maintenance, retiring in 1991.
Glen is survived by his wife Phyllis of East Grand Forks; daughters, Mary Sevier of Cedar Park, Texas; Faith (Doug) Callander of Largo, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sjostrand of Burnsville, Minn.; 6 grandchildren – Amy (Justin), Kyle (Angie), Brian (Terra), Nick (Thomas), Christ-opher (Emily), David (Erin), and 9 great-grandchildren – Haakon, Jaelyn, Caitlin, Avery, Alek-sander, Benjamin, Elliana, Miles and Sydney; sister, Ann Peterson of East Grand Forks.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerome; three brothers, Morris, Andy and Ray; and two sisters, Doris Kelly and Jean Potrament; mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Mary (Wilebski) Jerome; brothers-in-law, Lawrence M. (Mary) and Frank (Yaeko) Jerome; and sister-in-law, LaVonne Stumpf.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks. Visitation was held one hour before the service. Inurnment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Lancaster, at a later date.
Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, was in charge of the arrangements.
