Katherine Braun, 74

Katherine Sue Braun, 74, of Mandan, N.D., passed away June 9, 2019, in a Mandan Care Center.
Kathy was born on Dec. 6, 1944, to Anders and Virginia (Quale) Larson in Grand Forks, N.D. She was raised and educated in Hallock, Minn.
She married Lee Nelson, to this union three daughters were born, Debbie, Karla and Cindy.
Later, she married Bill Braun and she gained another daughter, Becky, and two sons, David and Rich.
Kathy worked at Lutheran Social Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Fargo, then at NISC in Mandan until her retirement.
Kathy will be deeply missed by her children, Karla (Tom) Tysver, Cindy Nelson, Becky (Kent) Rhodes, David (Jennifer) Braun, Rich (Steve Waller) Braun; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gin (Byron) Danielson and Angie (Rick) Dickson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Braun; one sister, Marylin Larson; one daughter, Debbie Bitz.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, 2 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with Rev. Bob Grey Eagle officiated. Burial of the urn was at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 3 p.m.
The family received friends and family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
