Rose Cerkowniak, 91
Rose Cerkowniak, 91, died Oct. 24, 2020, at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center.
Rose was born in Caribou, Minn., to Bill and Mary Krawchuk on May 26, 1929.
She married John Cerkowniak on Oct. 13, 1945, who preceeded her in death.
Rose loved serving coffee and fellowship to friends, family and visitors who stopped in. She had a love of children, provided daycare and was an adopted Grandma to many.
She was always busy mending jeans, alternations of clothing, patching quilts, fixing sewing machines, and even making socks for cows with hoof disease.
Rose was a faithful member of Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster. You could find her quilting mission quilts, serving and/or making goodies for funerals and church events, member of ELCA, and made lefse for smorgasbord.
Rose is survived by: her sons, Dennis (Sue) of West Fargo, N.D., Allan (Gayle) of Hereford, Ariz., and Rick (Jackie) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters, Delores (Lynn) Carter of Spring Brand West, Texas, Avis Low of Dallas, Texas; brother, Peter Krawchuk of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceeded in death by: her parents, Bill and Mary (Sandul) Krawchuk; husband, John; sisters, Anne McGovern, Nettie Dokken, Kathryn Molley, Verna Gamache, Bertha Knutson, Dorothy Krawchuk; brothers, Nels Krawchuk, Johnny Krawchuk; grandson, Ryan Cerkowniak.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster.
