Melanie (Hennum) Banasiuk, 77, Shakopee, Minn., formerly of Kennedy, Minn., died Jan. 18, 2021, in Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn., from complications of COVID-19.
Melanie grew up in Kennedy and following her high school graduation attended college in Fergus Falls, Minn., studying accounting and secretarial work. She later served as a border agent in Pembina, N.D.
In the early 1970s, she moved to the Minneapolis area, worked and raised her children. She worked at Seagate Manufacturing, from where she retired.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Left to mourn her are: son, Brent (Kimmie), New Prague, Minn.; daughter, Teresa (Vance) Mahoney, Burlesson, Texas; five grandchildren; sister, Colleen (W. Roger) Endersbe, Grand Forks, N.D.; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; and parents Clarion and Marion Hennum.
