Gene Adele Warner, 91

Gene Adele Warner, 91, passed away Oct. 6, 2021, at the Kittson Memorial Nursing Home in Hallock, Minn.
Gene was born Dec. 22, 1929, to Helen (Bjarnason) and Edward Grube. She spent the majority of her childhood in Pembina, N.D. Gene and her family then moved to Grand Forks, N.D., and she graduated from Grand Forks Central High School.
Gene married Leo Warner on May 1, 1948. Together they raised their four children, Danny, Darrell, Gary and Karen. Leo passed away on May 15, 2003.
Gene was a dedicated wife and wonderful mother. She was a talented baker and cook. Nothing pleased her more than making food for her family and friends.
Gene had great faith and was a very active member of the Pembina Lutheran Church. She was community-minded and served with several committees and organizations.
The American Legion Auxiliary was very important to her and she dedicated many hours to this organization. Gene was given special recognition for her outstanding support of the poppy program in 2019.
Gene is survived by her four children: Danny (Bobbie) Warner, Ruidoso, N.M.; Darrell (Nita) Warner, Pembina; Gary (Tracy Foy) Warner, Pembina; and Karen Warner, Hallock; grandchildren, Jon (Ronda) Warner, Joelle (JT) Bracken, Jay Warner, Lisa (Reid) Christenson, Bryan (Stephanie) Warner, Taryn Warner, Kinsey (Dalton Spicer) Warner, Joel (Kim) Deere, Kylie (David) Ogorek, Danielle (special friend Josh Rynning) Crotty; and 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Jay Grube; brother-in-law, Pat Budge; sister-in-law, Judy Warner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Warner; infant grandson, Ryan Michael Warner; parents, Helen and Edward Grube; sister, Gayle Budge; brothers, Gary and Tom Grube; also a niece, Paula (Grube) Johnson; and nephew, Paul Grube.
Prayer service was held on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at 7 p.m. with a visitation from 6-7 p.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church. Funeral was held on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church. Pastor Ronald Thompson, presiding; Doug Finney, soloist and Betty Irving, organist. Casket bearers will be Jon Warner, Joel Deere, Brian Warner, Kyle Warner, Reid Christenson, David Ogorek, Brody Lucier and Josh Rynning. Honorary casket bearers will be Gene’s great-grandchildren.
