Lewis Boychuk, 76
Lewis Boychuk, 76, a lifelong Hallock, Minn., farmer and businessman passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, Oct. 11, 2023.
Lewis was born in Hallock on Aug. 27, 1947, to Lawrence and Dora (Panchuk) Boychuk. He attended and graduated from Hallock High School in 1965 and started farming with his father, purchasing his first piece of land at the age of 18. He continued farming until 1987, at which time he purchased a semi and hauled grain, fertilizer and gravel for 37 years.
He married Linda Sjostrand on April 24, 1971, in Lake Bronson, Minn., and lived on the family farm for 52 years. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of country living where he could ride his Ranger through the woods on his trails and see the wildlife and check up on the farming going on around him. He was a director on the Granville Township Board for 28 years and a member of the Hallock Eagles for 55 years. He loved to hunt and couldn’t wait for hunting season each year. Trap shooting was one of his favorite hobbies along with camping and fishing — anything to do with the outdoors!
Lewis is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Linda; sisters, Jane Dexter and Sonja Erickson; nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister-in-law, Sandra McKinney and family; brother-in-law, Clayton (Jean) Sjostrand and family; and the very special extended family of Jeff Deere’s; along with numerous friends and neighbors.
