Robert (Bob) Christenson, 77

Robert (Bob) Christenson, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Bloomington, Minn., on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023.
Bob was born on May 31, 1946, to Irene and Clifford Christenson in Roseau, Minn. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964, and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in teaching with a focus in chemistry from Bemidji State University in 1968. In 1969, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served as an electronic technician until 1973. He then went on to work for Medtronic Inc. as a manufacturing engineer, for 32 years.
Bob always saw the best in people, and lived life with a pure and loving heart. He loved spending time with family, especially doing projects with his sons whether it was working on classic Mustangs, building a playhouse for his grandchildren, or getting the boat ready for fishing season. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing – and Sunday dinners with his family. Bob leaves behind a wonderful, loving legacy.
Bob is survived by: his wife, Susan Christenson of St. Paul, Minn.; children, Christopher (Katie) Christen-son of Minnetrista, Minn., Matthew (Sarah) Christen-son of Blaine, Minn., daughter-in-law, Bridget Christenson of St. Paul, John (Heather) Christenson of Eagan, Minn.; siblings, Sheila Eastman, Muriel Dykhuis, Dick Christenson, Carmel Stone, Crystal Stein, Jean Anderson, Russ Christen-son and Carol Davis; grandchildren, Paige (Elliott), Kyla, Aspen, Hannah, Cecelia, Leah, Margaret, Rebecca, Connor and Henrik; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by: his parents, Clifford and Irene Christenson; mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Peggy Sanner; sister, Helen; brothers, Jim and Joel; and son, Jeff.
His memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 67 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Lancaster.
